tamar|seed factory

last friday and saturday were such a treat! seriously, i am just so smitten with tamar, she is just as enchanting as her beautiful creations and so warm and lovely.

this peacock is so over-the-top stunning. jen and i decided that it looked like a wedding dress, prompting a couple nearby to ask if a custom peacock cake topper could be created for them. WOW!

after the meet and greet, we headed to dinner and it was insanely delicious. i wasn't very adventurous, but the chopped steak and frites were divine!

i also really enjoyed meeting tamar's fancy rep/travel buddy, ellen. she was full of fantastic stories and has quite the resume!

the stitch workshop was such an inspirational time for the children. they loved tamar and wanted to be her! so adorable.

ps sorry for all the debbie-downer posts. sheesh. and thank you very kindly for loving me anyway and for lifting me up out of my funk. this book lent to me by my incredible neighbor is also helping.

had to take a step back for a second and reevaluate my life. i've been feeling really down and miserable for no good reason, seeking encouragement like a little encouragement monster...like me like me. it's exhausting and i'm feeling over it. blogging used to be such a fun thing for me, a way to document matilda's childhood, to grow, to learn from others, to get inspired. lately it has been a little yucky for me, it can feel competitive, soulless. so, i stepped back and decided i won't let it be that way. God has been speaking so much to me in subtle ways about striving and seeking fulfillment and validation from everywhere and anyone but Him. i'm learning.

i decorated matilda's room for easter. i can't believe it is on sunday.

see that peter rabbit book. that was a book i received on my first easter from grammy and lynndaddy.

i also refreshed matilda's bed. i love these lady bug sheets. they were a gift from one of my favorite people...karina!

my poor little girl is coughing away in it right now. she has had a rough go and a constant runny nose. allergies like me? hope not!

we haven't been the happiest. even with her hippo in her back pack...something's up. growth spurt? teething? who knows!

sunday.

hope you all find yourselves curled up on a couch with your favorite people and a cup of coffee. we had our normal sunday morning routine: pancakes & cbs sunday morning. i crave it.

we are going through a serious meltdown phase at the grahams. not at all exhausting...any advice on toddler tantrums?

i will be making my rounds today visiting all my lovies on the mend and catching up with old friends.

it's grey outside with a promise of rain. i love rainy sundays.

can't stop dreaming about these lambs. meeting tamar was a dream, so inspiring. can't wait to share more with you.

and the winner is...JKrez! Hooray!

just some of the things sam brought home with him this past weekend. i have to say, it really bothers me that matilda will never know sam's parents. her mama lou and mr. sam would have treasured her. this sad truth is high up on the list of topics that i would like to talk to God about. i know that through stories and a treasure trove of newly discovered photographs that matilda will have some insight on how wonderful they were. sam also discovered two boxes full of letters from the war, perfect fodder for letters from okolona.

i just wanted to say thank you for all of your uplifting comments in response to this post. i also wanted to let you know that grammy is doing so well, in perfect spirits and health. she is such an inspiration, spreading love throughout the hospital!

just a quick reminder to enter this giveaway, you will love the headwear. so gorgeous!

this past weekend

saturday was so beautiful. matilda and i started the day at my favorite nursery.

we went to get some plants to refresh the front porch. geraniums are such easy plants to grow and provide a perfect pop of color. these are "hot coral."

i am really getting in to the cast-iron plant. such an elegant plant. i may or may not be sore from working on these planters. i had to use my entire body weight to get the vines out of the planters. woof.

we spent the whole day outside, mingled with neighbors and had dinner at taqueria. we were missing sam who was in mississippi with my daddy working on his parents home. it's so hard. we miss them so, so much.

sunday was spent indoors. we are having some crazy weather. sunny and 70 on saturday, thunderstorms on sunday, and snow this morning. i also had the pleasure of attending a perfectly quaint housewarming party for my dear friend brittany and her sweet husband jay. it was such a blessing to see so many of my favorite faces. their house is quite possibly the cutest ever. so charming, cozy, and full of love. feast your eyes.

lovebugs v 3.0

a few saturdays ago i had the pleasure of assisting the fabulous our labor of love in the now annual lovebug shoot. i have gushed over the previous years photos. this year our sweet matilda was captured, along with her good friend parker and lots of other adorable little people. i was completely blown away by all of the tender moments that were captured and moved to tears when i saw our girl with her baby and her spoon.
