Restaurant Review: Barkers Red Hots

Located on Windy Hill, Barkers Red Hots feels more like a trip to the Boardwalk. Bright blue umbrellas and twinkle lights welcome you and once you're inside it's a retro oasis of turquoise and bright green.

If you love hot dogs like I do, you will adore this nostalgic lunch spot (which is now open for dinner and on Saturdays). Mom and I went to Barkers yesterday to meet Rach for lunch and I was in heaven.

I had the Barker Original cooked over charcoal with horshradish mustard, but if you prefer the "city" steamed dogs they have those too! We also had the vinegar washed crinkle cut fries (yum) and I had the Crystal beach Loganberry juice which was fantastic!!

Owners Glenn and Vivian Robinson are actually old friends of my parents and they got in to the hot dog business in 1984 and had several hot dog stands all over Atlanta. They were actually the first licensed street vending operation in Atlanta. Their hot dogs are made by a fifth-generation family of hot dog makers.

Voted "Atlanta's Best Hot Dog" from Atlanta Magazine

Go get you a dog. They're amazing!
