Signs of Fall

Today Mama rescued me from these walls I call home. I had to get out. Sam and I had quite the sleepless night last night. Being a new parent, I feel like I'm on a constant learning curve, trying to keep up. If anyone has any sleep tips for newborns...I'm all ears.

After a lovely lunch at Gabriels, with a delightful vegetable plate, and an unexpected run in with a Mrs. Nancy Bray, we headed off to find some fall porch decor. Mums and pumpkins...

Here is our much cheered up porch

I love the white pumpkin, from Rachel.

The basket was Mama's idea. I love it.

Jessie and Travis took care of Guinness while we were out of town. He had the best time with Max and he couldn't have stayed in a more loving home. He came home like this:

It is such a lesson in patience having a new baby and a very curious dog. Help me Rhonda!

Here are some sweet pictures of Sam and Matilda. I love these two.

Hey Lesley,
Have you tried a swing? For some reason the motion seems to help with the fussy tummy. Sometimes that was all that would make Clayton feel better. Allen walked the floors and sang to Lauren every night. Fortunately, it doesn't last too long. Breast fed babies seem to digest their food faster, so they don't sleep as long, but it is still worth it. Just nap when she does so you can make it through this time. I love the new pictures. She is adorable!

I just can not even get over how beautiful and healthy and perfect she looks! Just beautiful!

I second the swing, we loved the papasan style one from Fisher Price. Actually we still love it (bag over head) even at 15 months. Sometimes its the only way to get her a good nap. At 23 lbs it still manages to swing her! Anyhow, the swing was by far the best "baby gear" investment, as well as a pouch sling. I made my own (actually used to sell them, but have given it up for the time being). If you'd like one, I can easily tell you how, I seem to remember you being very crafty! No better use for a unique designer fabric!

Sit down, enjoy this time, I also second the fact that it will fly by before your very eyes!
