did you have a great easter?! we spent ours over at my mama's house with the most delicious brunch. we ate entirely too much (can someone say detox next week) and then watched matilda hunt for eggs. it was her first egg hunt and she LOVED it. pure unadulterated excitement. it was hilarious. i will say i missed not going to church. we should have. i also struggled with explaining the true reason for easter to matilda. any advice on that sort of thing? the whole easter bunny bit is a little crazy, huh?
we also got to go over to my grammy and lynndaddy's to shortly celebrate lynndaddy's birthday. pretty darn lucky to still have all of my grandparents in my life. so thankful.
kate and andy stopped by too with some vintage goodness for the studio. speaking of, i'll be showing off our new lastfiveweeksofourlife room tomorrow! so excited to share it with you guys...

Love Matilda's hat and you look so pretty too :)
I tell Luke that Easter is a celebration of how much Jesus loves us. We don't hype up the easter bunny too much but he loves getting a little basket and of course the egg hunts!
Enjoy your week!
I told my son the story of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection (but in terms a 2-year old can mostly understand...still doesn't get death) and then said the easter bunny comes to help us celebrate how jesus lives again. He totally got it and showed me his hands and said, "Jesus! Not dead!" I think starting young is key. There will be plenty of years to help him truly understand the deeper concepts.
Oh Matilda looks so cute in her hat. Was just whining about how I get sad on Easter being away from everyone. I think I'll get to come home in mid July for Stevie's wedding, though.
puh-puh-puh-precious! Her hat is adorable and I just know she had a ball hunting Easter eggs.
I gave my friend's little girl an Easter book called, "What is Easter?" http://tiny.cc/fy015 It explains the fun of Easter eggs and the Easter bunny, but also ends with the biblical message behind Easter in a kid-friendly way.
Jae's 2.5 and seems to understand the book and its message. Her mom said she asks to read it every night. And when her mom asks, "What is Easter all about?", she'll answer "It's about God's son." Might be a fun book for you to check out. XOXO
I'm so impressed you got your daughter to keep the hat on! We've had no such luck with our 2-year-old.
Look at how cute you guys are! I'm new to your blog but will be coming back! And back...and back...
your family is so dang cute!
Love your dress! Also, Matilda looks like a little doll, so adorable!
