this weekend God truly shined down on matilda's party. there were no tears, no broken bones and the weather could not have been more perfect. last year when we decided not to have a party (we did this instead) i was talking to a customer at the shop and she suggested that i do a "mathilda and the orange balloon" party. i thought it was such an amazing idea but really kind of forgot about it. fast forward to us owning (and loving) the book and it just felt perfect. on top of that book i've always loved orange and have been crazy-inspired by the geronimo balloons, so i knew i wanted to incorporate that in to the party as well. so, here is matilda's third birthday party. so many people we love were there. i feel utterly and totally blessed by the support system of friends and family that we have. such good souls. all of em. matilda was beside herself but spent most of the time blowing bubbles (thanks kathleen) and dragging around her balloon.
stay tuned for all my party diys...
