happy halloween

matilda rockin' out as snow white

this weekend sam and i made a concerted effort to celebrate halloween.
we went to six stores to find the perfect snow white wig. (isn't it hysterical?!)
we took matilda to eddie's trick shop.
we watched the zombie walk. real life walking dead. we saw everything from dogs and kids to senior citizen zombies.
matilda and i watched it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown.
we forced ourselves to stop working on projects and watched the strangers (good grief i really don't like scary movies).
trick or treating tonight! we will all eat one or two pieces and then that candy is getting trashed. i'm hardcore like that.

just curious, as adults do you still dress up? i love people that get really into it, although i have to admit it has been a hot minute for me. i think my last costume was a 50's housewife pre-baby. halloween isn't typically my favorite holiday, but being scared was kinda fun this year.

  1. I looove Halloween, so I appreciate your efforts fir Matilda's costume!! And, I used to love scary movies in high school, but I left the theater 3/4 through the Strangers bc I just couldn't take it anymore. That movie scared the beejezus outta me! Have fun tonight!

  2. You should donate the candy! There is a program tht collects the candy and sends it to the troops for a sweet treat from home! West Side usually does this, I can check it out if ou want.

  3. People always assume you're a party pooper if you don't like to dress up for halloween. Honestly, as soon as I outgrew trick or treating, I was done with dressing up. I've done it a few times since then just so I wouldn't be shunned at parties, but lordy I hate doing it. But that's just me. And I promise I'm not a party pooper! I really just don't enjoy dressing as someone/something else.

  4. I normally love dressing up for halloween, but for some reason I just couldn't get it together this year so I didn't have a costume. I did go out on Saturday night, though, and saw some good ones. And I carved a hilarious pumpkin yesterday--did you see it? Heehee.

Matilda looks perfect. SO CUTE. Eddie's Trick Shop--like we did when we were kids :)

You may have seen on my blog last week that last year I wanted to be scared out of my mind so I watched The Strangers, and it hardly scared me. This year I watched Paranormal Activity and Matt & I giggled through the whole thing. The last time I remember being REALLY scared during a movie was Cape Fear, and I'm pretty sure I watched it with you--maybe at Grammy & Lynndaddy's? We were young--possibly too young to be watching Cape Fear, haha!

  5. Til looked adorable in her costume, glad you guys had fun! Have you seen Red Riding Hood? That movie is the good type of scary in my opinion. The suspenseful kind. There's nothing I hate more than a flick with lots of gore, blood, and violence.
