This Christmas was a bittersweet one, Matilda's first and Sam's first without his parents. It has been emotional. I do feel that Sam's parents are with us. Before Sam's Mama passed away in March he was telling his co-workers about how excited we were about her visit and how thrilled we were to be expecting. He said, "Life is good." After his Mom's funeral we saw a car with a bumper sticker that said the same and Sam felt it was his Mom's way of reminding him. This Christmas Grammy and Lynndaddy bought us all stockings and in glitter wrote our names on each one. It was so dear. In Sam's stocking they put a picture frame (a very girly one, which easily could have gone in mine or Matilda's) and on the bottom right hand corner were the words "Life is Good." Sam didn't even tell me about it. Grammy asked Sam to show it to me and I just looked at him in disbelief when I saw it. We all believed it was Mama Lou's message to him to touch his heart on such a sad day.
We seriously need to invest in a POD for Matilda. The girl was loaded up with goodies that she can't appreciate just yet. One day she will love her adorable mouse and laugh at the whirly gig and contemplate as she loads her little shapes in to their corresponding holes.
