9021ugh

I gave 90210 vs 2.0 a second chance last night and woof. The acting is soooo bad and the plot is less than gripping.

Nose flare girl finds out her Dad is cheating only to tell her Mom and have her Mom say she already knows...typical (after receiving a Mercedes SUV as a consolation for her father bailing on her)

Silver sleeps in shelters to avoid her drunk mother...only to have her new "best friends" help her out...

Lines like I'm feeling Nobu and I want to be the next Spencer made throw up rise in my mouth. It's like they're trying to stay relevant, and then they reference Coldplay and Lucky Strike...

I also noticed that miss Brenda was missing from this episode. Poor Jennie Garth. She's so adorable, Tori stay away!

If this show makes it to next season I'll be shocked.

Gossip Girl

So, in case you have not gotten the Gossip Girl bug, let me try to infect you. First of all they are replaying season one on the CW Monday nights at 8 eastern so there is no time like the present to get hooked. Unfortunately there has not been a DVD season 1 release date...trust me I've looked.

The synopsis:
Welcome to New York's Upper East side where the wealthy and connected mingle at benefits and try to deal with their always dramatic love lives, not to mention picking colleges. Blair Waldorf is the so-called toast of adolescence in her world; she and her friends, Kati Farkas and Isabel Coates, go to a prep school and fancy parties with their rich parents. Blair is envied by her adversaries because she is thought to have the perfect life, not just because of her gorgeous boyfriend, Nate Archibald, but because she's also planning on getting into her dream college,Yale. With everyone worried about college(or procrastinating on worrying, which everyone seems to be doing), and senior year dragging along, her seemingly perfect life is interrupted by her ex-best friend, the beautiful Serena van der Woodsen, coming back into town after getting kicked out of boarding school. Serena comes back into her life, and into the eyes of Blair's boy friend. When everything Blair knows starts to fall apart, everyone will realize that her life is far from perfect. Will life in the the Upper East Side redeem itself of what it's really supposed to be? Or will the false facade reveal that the rich have the same problems as the not so rich (Jenny and Dan Humphrey), if not more. And just maybe Jenny and Dan are all the more happy with their simple, not so expectant lives.

Basically the gyst is the story is based on the popular adolescent novels. The clothes are amazing, the plot lines are scandolous, and with Kristen Bell (r.i.p. Veronica Mars) as the voice of "Gossip Girl" who writes a gossip blog based on the overpriveledged teens you basically can't go wrong. Oh yeah, and did I mention how HOT everyone is?

ps it's all about the headbands...

Sloppy Joes, Slop Sloppy Joes

Last night was day two of my trial. We invited my Mom and sister, Rachel, over for dinner. You guessed it sloppy joes! As I flipped through my cookbooks on Sunday I was hit with the hunger when I saw a recipe for homemade Sloppy Joes. The cookbook was Dave Lieberman's Young and Hungry cookbook. I got it right after Sam and I got married and had only made the white sangria (delicious by the way). I altered the recipe a little bit. It was super easy and everyone said it was the best they'd ever had. I was so proud! I also halfed the recipe to feed just six instead of twelve.

Sloppy Joes
1 1/4 lb ground beef
1 chopped onion
1/2 cup ketchup
2/3 cup bbq sauce ( i prefer Williamson Bros., local and to die for)
2 shots of Harachi sauce or tobasco
2 splashes of worchestire sauce
ground pepper to taste
2 T tomato paste
hamburger buns

Chop the onion and then brown in olive oil until translucent. Add the beef and brown until juice drains. Add tomato paste and then the rest of the ingredients combined. Cook about 10 min. Enjoy!!!!

Oh, yeah and he's a total babe!

Can we discuss the Hills? I got caught up today and can I just say...Lo is being quite the little brat these days. She's always been my fave, but lately...whoa!

Best Laid Plans

So, after consulting many organization guides and do it all friends I am trying something new. On Sunday I actually planned out my meals for mon-fri and made a grocery list! Novel idea, huh? I was in and out of the grocery store in 30 min and had my first meal ready last night. I made the most delicious Roasted Shrimp and Orzo Salad from the Barefoot Contessa At Home cookbook.

You, too can have your very own onion goggles!

Where's my hand model when I need her?

This is one of my favorite summer time meals, click here for the recipe!

It is no secret that I love the Contessa. I have loved every one of her recipes that I've attempted and I imagine myself in the Hamptons each time I do so.

In other news I have been feeling baby Matilda more and more and I love it.

In other, other news I must get back to Gossip Girl! Little J wore an Anthro sweater tonight!!
