Craft of the day: Easter Egg Bean bag Tutorial

I wanted to make something fun for Easter, that would be easy to make in a batch. I came up with these Easter Egg bean bags, made from felt, fabric scraps, thread, and rice for the filling.

1. Cut out 2 oval pieces of fabric or felt.



2. Cut out strips of fabric and arrange them like so.



3. Sew around the edge to keep the fabric in place.



4. Cut excess fabric around edge.



5. "Quilt" the front of the egg by sewing in a circle.



6. Now you can add an embellishment. I chose a felt heart. I would probable use embroidery thread in a contrasting color next time, but the machine works as well.



7. Sew as close to the edge of both pieces as possible with right sides together.



8. Turn inside out.



9. Fill with beans, rice, or whatever else you would like.



10. Sew shut, make sure to back stitch several times!
