climbing the hill

i've been thinking a lot about choices lately. we don't always take the high road. sometimes i look back on certain moments in my life where i just cringe. i don't like how i handled something or i feel like i hurt someone. nothing makes me more uncomfortable than the thought of hurting someone. even someone i really don't like and let's face it we all have people in our lives who fall under that category. but like oprah says, "we will be judged by the way we treat the smallest creatures," pretty sure she was referring to animals, but i digress.

i'm starting to feel a teeny bit better. a brief lunch out with the williams girls left me feeling less than stellar. can you believe these temperatures?

i've been drinking a lot of this lately. it keeps me from having coughing fits. trader joes has the best tea.

sam and i started doing a family bedtime prayer tonight. some may start this from birth, but i felt like matilda wouldn't really grasp any of it, so i wanted to wait until she was a little bit older. we also picked a verse to memorize for the week. we'll read it before we go to sleep every night in hopes that it will sink in. if you'd like to join us. we are memorizing:

isaiah 58:11 The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

with the new year, we could all use some guidance, huh?

in other news...i have an announcement. i started an etsy store!
after some really great encouragement i decided to take the plunge. bare with me as i get things in the shop. i was just too excited not to share! i would love any and all feedback. i hope you all have a really wonderful night.

Thanks for posting this, and I love you choice of scripture this week; going to make a note of it myself.

So glad you started the etsy store!! It's gonna be great. Everyone in GA keeps talking about how freezing it is . . . did I just barely miss it?! I was home just a few days ago and wore dresses every day and didn't even bring a coat home!

SO excited for your store! I really hope you put your ornaments in there because you will already have a buyer! In love with them. (And your doll too). Best of luck!

awesome about the store and your new nightly routine! we've been doing the prayer and singing a hymn everynight, but I think we will wait for the scripture until she is a year maybe?? unless I got a picture version of the scriptures.... hmmmm. anyway, glad to have such spiritually sound friends like you:)
