dustin' it off

one of my goals for this year is to spend waaay less time here, and way more time doing these sorts of things. ever feel like you're back in high school when it comes to social networking? wondering why so and so hasn't friended you or you feel left out when @yourmama and @yourdaddy are having dinner without you? it's kind of gross. it presents such a false sense of intimacy. although i love seeing pictures of the latest newborns and hearing about people's 5 vacations a year (bitter?me?) it all just feels well, fake. people feel like they know what's going on in everyone's lives so there's no real need to pick up the phone. leave a quick comment, nothing messy, and you're off the hook. we've all become a bit lazy. myself included.

so i plan on changing that. you can only change yourself right? so now that i'm feeling a bit more like myself i've started getting some wheels turning and it feels good. i also want to start writing more letters, you know the handwritten type. for no reason, because i'm thankful for my family and friends, and i want them (you) to know it.

i'm real thankful for this girl and so glad she's home with us. double chin wuddup.

and just because we southerners like to whine...baby it's COLD outside!

1. You look so gorgeous in that pic with Matilda! Super skinny, bright red hair, so happy. I love it!
2. I cracked up reading the "@yourmama and @yourdaddy" thing . . . I finally understand that when people's facebook status updates say "@" it means that they originally posted on twitter, but I still think it's pretty ridiculous/hilarious.
3. I love you!!

Les, you look so great in that pic! I love your hair like that :) I agree. Social networking has made us lazy, and I want to change that, too. Can't wait to see you!!! And Til looks so precious in that furry hat!

Amen sister! I think we neighborhood girls need a craft night- since I don't get to go to the play dates yet (bitter party of one.).

I LOVE the idea of writing letters more! I have to admit, I still get super excited when I see an actual letter for me in the mailbox! Time to spread the joy, right? :)

Eeee!! I'm so excited about your etsy! It's a shame you're the only mama I know right now that I could gift these things to. I can't wait to see your craft adventures this year!!
