perfect french toast

i am a breakfast person. i love all things in the morning. it's when i'm the most productive, creative, and i love enjoying delicious food first thing!

i believe the key to perfect french toast is day old crusty bread.

perfect french toast

sliced french bread +3 eggs+3 splashes of milk+t vanilla+nutmeg to taste

in a mixing bowl combine all ingredients minus the bread. pour mixture in to a glass baking dish and then soak bread on both sides. preheat skillet and add T butter+splash of olive oil. place bread in skillet and brown on both side. add warm syrup and/powdered sugar and enjoy!

speaking of recipes...i want some new ones. tried and true that you cook all the time. breakfast, lunch, or dinner. merci.

I remember your dad making us french toast when we were little girls... with LOTS of powdered sugar!

That looks SO DELICIOUS, man oh man. You're the perfect domestic woman! I'll try to send more recipes but here is a simple one I've been making lately that is healthy and soooo yummy:
*bag of small red potatoes
*one big onion
*about 1/2 bag of baby carrots
*olive oil
*s/p
*I use Tony Chachere's cajun seasoning to make it a little spicy

*Cut the potatoes in halves or quarters (depending on size)
*Chop the onion (not too small)
*pour olive oil into glass baking dish (you know, enough to coat the bottom plus a little)
*put potatoes, chopped onion (big-ish pieces) and baby carrots in the dish
*mix them around to coat in oil
*s/p
*Tony Chachere's
*bake at 400 for about an hour
*I usually broil for 5 minutes at the end to make it crispy

YUMMY, vegan, and delicious. :) Ala my Nana.
