welcome home charlotte

last week our dear friends and neighbors, christy and erik, had their sweet, tiny baby charlotte. isn't she perfection? jet black, curly hair and the daintiest little face. she already has her mom and dad wrapped around her finger. it is so cool to watch your good friends become parents. nothing like it really. they are so great with her and calm! christy who is incredibly together, was already walking around with her hair done no less at the hospital. she's a go getter, that one. i took these pictures of them just a few days after charlotte was born. i wanted you to see what a great job chris did on the nursery. this is just a peek, but i love the creative art collage and the menagerie of monsters. the colors are so fresh and calming and there are so many handmade touches. christy is one crafty lady. it is SO them and these photos make me really happy. congrats friends!

friday feature: lost mountain nursery

my mom and i visited one of our all time favorite nurseries this past week. for years we have made the trek to lost mountain nursery and boy was it worth it! the plant selection and design can not be beat and there is a true gardeners spirit in the air. come early as most of the plants are in full sun and leave plenty of time to wander aimlessly as you dream of where to put that "perfect" plant...

looking forward to sharing my eventful weekend with you...

First Look: Matilda's Room

I've had a lot of people ask me what we're doing for Matilda's room, so I thought I would share some pictures! Probably the highlight of every pregnant woman's third trimester is decorating. With all of the waiting it's a fun distraction to get caught up in bumpers, rocking chairs, and clothes!

We purchased the Expedit from Ikea for storage purposes and I have a thing with cubbies. Daddy helped set it up and he did a great job. There were a few hiccups, but Mom and I supervised:).

Sam and Daddy breaking out the furniture...We got Matilda an easel to inspire her creativity. I love school house touches like chalk boards and old books.

Grammy and Lynndaddy got us the adorable rocking chair and pillows, and the crib was my cousin Patrick's.

We still have a lot of final touches to do, but here is the rough draft!

The bedding I got on ebay and I love it! I wanted something that was sweet and not overly fussy.

So, here is a little peak at what our weekends have been like! Thanks again Jake for helping me pick up the mattress!!
