my mother's day

i think we were looking at squirrels?

i had such an amazing mother's day. i woke up to lots of hugs and kisses and a "valentine" made by sam and matilda. it was such a hilarious card. matilda drew all over it and then sam drew corresponding thought bubbles like, "i love our snuggle time," "you're the best story teller," and "%*&^$#." HA. we've been dealing with expletives around here.

rachel and i took mama out for brunch to one of our favorite places: sun in my belly. the weather was perfect and so was the company. my omelette was divine!

we celebrated grammy's birthday and all of the mothers over a big spread, including my favorite cake: lemon cheese.

then matilda and i took a walk while sam tidied up the garden.

perfect day.

would love to hear how you spent yours...

Happy Mother's Day Leslie! Sounds like a great day, especially Sam cleaning up the garden :) Wish I could get my hubs to do that!

Gotta try that restaurant. Looks amazing!

What a perfect day! The thought bubbles are hilarious. What a sweet family you have. I had never heard of Sun In My Belly, I'll have to check it out. Their site is gorgeous.

1. You guys look precious in that picture.
2. Lemon cheesecake? Salivating. Particularly after 2 weeks of being on a diet.
3. I missed my mama and all the mamas on Mothers' Day.
4. "dealing with expletives"--does this mean Matilda is saying them? I kinda hope so cause that's hilarious. Stevie once said "DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT" when she was two and it's still one of my funniest memories from childhood.
5. I wish I liked omelets. I've been choking them down on occasion for the protein but the truth is I think eggs are gross. If there was one food I could make myself like, that would be it.

matilda looks so cute! her hair is much longer since i saw her last. i "officially" announced my pregnancy and got a sweet card from my mom. made her breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the entire weekend. odd to think that i will really get to be a part of the holiday next year!
