what an amazing wedding. it was such a huge honor to be a part of kate and andy's wedding day. i could go on and on about how beautiful, sweet, fun, and wonderful the entire weekend was. everything from the big white balloons to the delicious food, to the amazing dancing. it was an absolute blast!
i can't wait to see the pictures...seriously. scott, adam, and cristen were just the nicest, calmest, people to work with.
see sam's pictures here.
the rehearsal and dinner were equally lovely. we had the yummiest dinner at mary mac's tea house on ponce. i always thought it was this teeny tiny place and it was huge. the food was to die for. i always love experiencing people's first bites of fried green tomatoes. i couldn't live anywhere else.

there's nothing as special as a wedding. a room full of people who share the same love and commitment for the bride and groom. it's palpable.
congrats again kate and andy!

matilda's first night out with logan resulted in this picture. sam ran up to show me this at the reception and i was overjoyed to see how much fun our little girl was having with the best friends we could have. thanks a million jess and trav (and sharon, kirk, and barb!)

rehearsal dinner pictures to come and one of the wedding!

this morning i had one of those harried mom mornings. you know, the ones where you are doing a million things at once and everything and everyone comes first and it's five til the time you're supposed to leave and you're still in your bath robe. yea, one of those. but, feeling very proud of myself, i managed to get me and matilda bathed, two batches of muffins baked, both of us dressed and fed, and we were out the door (albeit 15 minutes late) with coffee in tow thanks to sam.
where were we heading?

to celebrate logan "officially" becoming a xayaseng, although he's felt very official since he was brought in to all of our lives in december. unfortunately a lot of red tape, paperwork, and fees have to be tied up. done and done. i'm so proud of them.

beth threw the sweetest fete in logan's honor. very emotional and beautiful brunch.

sippy cup. our pediatrician said to say adios to the bottle. what? i feel like matilda is still a baby and i keep getting these "your toddler" emails and then i'm told to take her bottle away. why is everyone trying to make her grow up so fast? after several days of fits, she relinquished and gave in to the sippy cup. she won't give it to herself yet, my baby still needs me.

sleep. matilda's sleeping patterns have started to change. apparently this change is normal. she isn't tired. ever. a lot of friends (thank God for social networking and endless solutions) suggested dropping her morning nap. she still seems so tired, so i put her down and then the afternoon nap drops. say what? will keep plowing forward.

i made a camera strap cover for my strap. i used craft-fuse to add some stiffness.

i used tweed on one side (so sam won't be embarrassed when he's shooting) and a fun polka dot print on the other side. autumnal, no?

i've realized my last few entries were pretty much only pictures, no words. so what have we been up to? perhaps more than we should be. i might just collapse tonight, but it's good tired...great tired. i got to spend a significant amount with friends and family this weekend. what else can a girl ask for?
friday night was taqueria del sol on cheshire bridge. if you haven't tried taqueria, there's a problem, but i hadn't been to this location before and i have to say i prefer the larger space and more adequate seating. it was an absolute pleasure to see margot, her sister molly, their wonderful friends, rachel, and my fastly fleeting jodi. have i mentioned she's moving away? probably not, because i pretend it's not happening.

saturday was a family walk to the square (i think i pulled my groin) to visit our favorite deli and then i made a camera strap cover. later. saturday night was an impromptu celebration of dear erin's birth and karina's last minute trip up. the stars were aligned. we started the night at krog bar. i loved krog bar, it's this teeny tiny wine and tapas bar owned by kevin rathbun. the small plates were simple and fresh and the wine selection was stellar. can i have a glass of veuve now please? then we walked through the krog tunnel to estoria. i had the most amazing turkey burger there. good grief. such a fun time, my sweet husband was on dad duty giving me a nice night out.

today was so great. really great. i had been looking forward to the field of greens festival all week. i was extremely excited about seeing kevin gillespie, my absolute favorite contender on top chef.
i was so excited to be able to support local farmers who had been affected by the floods and to try all of the amazing food. there was such a great energy, lots of cute animals, and a bbq cook off. it was pretty much perfect. ok, i think that's all i'll write this week. if you read this- thank you, for caring, for loving us, and for reading this little blog.
