Craft of the day: Switch plate art

The ultra crafty Christy of In the Cottage made a beautiful switch plate cover using her existing switch plate + mod podge + beautiful egg paper. So simple, but adds so much. I will be converting my switch plates here soon!

You're it

My lovely (and persistent;)) friend Christina (aka Anonymously Chic) tagged me to find a picture that sums up my own personal style. Icheywawa, this is a hard one. I don't usually participate in these sorts of challenges, but for Chris I'll make an exception.

This isn't exactly what I was looking for, but it's pretty close. You only get so many "sleeping baby minutes." I am bohemian modern to my very core. I love saturated colors of all kinds, lots of house plants, vintage touches, lots of pillows, bright graphic prints, and cozy everything. I like things to look orderly, but not perfect, and never matchy-matchy. I like quirky accents and lots of photographs.

Here are some pictures of my home...

Alright, so the lucky taggees are:

My nieghbor, Christy, the Simple Wife.

Plum Tree Studio's Dana.

Brittany of Little by Little.

Christy of In the Cottage.

and

Jessica of I heart Veggies.

Saturdays were made for parties

We had a busy little saturday and we loved it! The fall weather made its debut and it couldn't have come at a better time. We had the pleasure of attending Jack's second birthday party and the Krezel's Annual Fall Fest. It was such a fun day. I love getting to see our friends and I especially love showing off our baby girl.

Jack's birthday party was a success. He was so happy. He kept clapping and shaking a true testimony that he was having a good time. We had delicious pizza and pound cake and got to spend a lovely morning with our buds.

The fall party was amazing as always. I look forward to it every year. Jennifer and Eric are the ultimate hosts. I tell everyone that Jennifer is my "Martha" friend. She's ridiculously good at throwing parties. This year Rachel came and brought her adorable friend Bethany. I've realized that the band came first, then marriages, the book club, and now an explosion of children. It was pretty crazy.

Happies

Sam's Mama used to call unexpected surprises, "Happies" and I couldn't agree more. Here are some "Happies" from this week:

Jessica sent this lovely package!
I'm obsessed with the book.
How cute is this? She'll have to wear it when Sam has a Magnolia Leather Works booth!
This beautiful moses basket was hand delivered by all three Harrisons!
Thank you sweet friends for brightening our days!

Happy Birthday Christy!

Today is my dear friend Christy's birthday. She is one of the most creative and fun people I know. She is a wonderful wife to Andy and Mama to baby Jack. Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing day.

Christy's sweet husband surprised her with a surprise party this saturday and we were so happy to be invited. They are two of my favorite people. The funniest part of the night was when Christy arrived home to her dark house and sarcastically yelled, "surprise!" because she said she really wanted someone to throw her a surprise party, not knowing all her friends were waiting nervously in the dark. We were all very confused, but once we yelled surprise we knew that she was. Her face was priceless! Love you Christy!
