christy turned another year older. i'm excited for what this year has in store for her. mimosas, porch talks, and christy's amazing and hilarious family were all a part of the evening. spider dog and orcas. i always laugh so hard when i'm with them. happy birthday friend.

You're it

My lovely (and persistent;)) friend Christina (aka Anonymously Chic) tagged me to find a picture that sums up my own personal style. Icheywawa, this is a hard one. I don't usually participate in these sorts of challenges, but for Chris I'll make an exception.



This isn't exactly what I was looking for, but it's pretty close. You only get so many "sleeping baby minutes." I am bohemian modern to my very core. I love saturated colors of all kinds, lots of house plants, vintage touches, lots of pillows, bright graphic prints, and cozy everything. I like things to look orderly, but not perfect, and never matchy-matchy. I like quirky accents and lots of photographs.

Sunny sun calling our names

Even though yesterday was more partly cloudy than super sunny, we got our winter bones outside and pretty much stayed there. The warmth alone was like medicine for the soul. We caught up with neighbors that had been hibernating alongside us and it was so nice to see their faces.



We noticed the new signs of spring...my tulips are coming back. Sometimes laziness in the garden has its benefits!







Sam fixed my beautiful path lights from Smith and Hawken. I never thought they would work again after they had been spliced and diced by multiple landscapers. When they came on as we were fixing dinner I couldn't believe my eyes. Sam has become so handy and he makes being handy look good I might add!
